A Māori woman with unpopular opinions.
Eli, from the new podcast, Common Ground, interviews Corina Shields.
This is great interview with Māori woman Corina Shields. She is part of the Māori women’s group Mana Wāhine Kōrero (Sovereign Women Speak) but largely acts and speaks publicly on her own behalf.
Corina is one of those Māori women whom our mainstream media don’t much like, because she’s not afraid to have a different opinion to that which they prefer Māori to have. However, with more and more alternative media coming to the fore now, alternative and grassroots Māori voices can begin to be heard, too. This may be a very enlightening conversation for some viewers, whether in New Zealand or overseas.
Corina Shields on Māori Policy, Gender Ideology & Political Courage
For those who watch, there is a glossary of the Māori words which Corina uses in the description part of the YouTube video.
Yep Katrina, this wahine rocks the truth. Love her.
Thanks for sharing this Katrina. An important and honest voice.
