Jill, Simon, and I talk about gender ideology in NZ on 'polity world'.
Gender ideology is still fat with funding from our government, but it's getting harder for it to hide in the shadows.
Some may already have seen this podcast below shared by the Women’s Rights Party NZ on their Substack , especially those who subscribe to both our Substacks - but for everyone else, here is Jill’s and my chat with Simon Anderson of ‘polity world’.
Jill Ovens is the co-leader of the Women’s Rights Party, of which I am also a member. Simon is the guy who captured the worst mob violence against women in New Zealand’s history on video, when Kellie-Jay Keen came here in 2023.
Funny wee story: as someone on the periphery of the team organising Kellie-Jay’s visit, Simon contacted me out of courtesy to ask if he could film it. I asked the team, and they said yes of course, as it was a public event, but to thank him for asking. I relayed that back to him, and added “if you get anything interesting, let us know”. It’s one of those lines I’ll remember for the rest of my life – lol!
Simon has now created a new podcast platform called ‘polity world’, and Jill and I were his first guests on it. We covered a lot of ground discussing gender ideology here in NZ for the main part, but wandered overseas a little, too.
Hope you enjoy the chat as much as we enjoyed participating in it 😊
Jill Ovens and Katrina Biggs: Women's Rights and Gender Ideology in 2025
Just as an entertaining end note, I’m wearing a carving of a pīwakawaka (an NZ fantail) around my neck.
The Dept of Conservation says this about the fantail: “In Māori mythology, the fantail was responsible for the presence of death in the world. Maui, thinking he could eradicate death by successfully passing through the goddess of death, Hine-nui-te-po, tried to enter the goddess’s sleeping body through the pathway of birth. The fantail, warned by Maui to be quiet, began laughing and woke Hine-nuite-po, who was so angry that she promptly killed Maui.”
In the here and now, fantails are absolutely charming wee birds and delightful to behold, but if they can bring death to gender ideology, who am I to question the mythology? 😊
Piwakawaka was also the protector of the Kuia and Fire goddess Mahuika, from (her mokopuna), Maui...who tried to steal fire from her. Hinenui Te Po crushed him (Maui)to death between her thighs...so the legend goes.
Any person still unclear about how disrespectful, dehumanising and destructive gender ideology is towards women is not
a. Living in the real world of binary sex acknowledgement or
b. Being intellectually honest...rather it is a twisting of a 'legal fiction' into an excuse for non axtion. We are appalled at seeing the subversion of the courts with pronoun misuse and the confinement of jailed women made possibly more abusive by men on women's jails...begun 2015 by Jan Logie. As many constituents hoping for change and commonsense to prevail... changed their voting after Winston leader of NZ First, declared he knew what a woman was and revealed his concern at the cult ...we now need authentic action by hom and Seymour ( it seems Labour abd National are still blinkered from the harms or using casuistry) to remove its rot. I challenge Winston to follow through. He needs to act.
Great review and looking forward, Katrina and thanks to Jill and you.
Have cross posted.
