A trans lobby group are taking the NZ Government to court over upcoming puberty blocker restrictions.

In Ani O’Brien’s Substack titled The lunatics are taking the government to court, she writes -

“A handful of activists, with a tenuous grip on reality and a plethora of mental health issues between them, are dragging the government into the courts over the puberty blocker ban.

On 1 December 2025, the Professional Association for Transgender Health Aotearoa (PATHA) filed an urgent injunction seeking to block the upcoming ban on new prescriptions of puberty-blockers for “gender-dysphoric youth” set to take effect on 19 December.”

Can you work out who the aforementioned “lunatics” in the title are?

I previously wrote about the NZ Government’s restrictions on puberty blockers, in which I quoted Associate Minister for Health Casey Costello’s prediction that “You and I both know this war is far from over. The same activists who flooded the system with ideology won’t give up quietly. They’re already drafting their press releases, lobbying MPs, whipping the media into a frenzy, and preparing their next campaign to get these dangerous drugs back into children.”

And right on cue, PATHA proves her right.
