The Plot Sickens – by Yvonne van Dongen
New Zealand’s Ministry of Health takes a weak stance on puberty blockers.
After a long wait, NZ’s Ministry of Health (MoH), recently released their evidence brief and position statement on puberty blockers. The term “damp squib” was mentioned in regard to these, when I contacted writer and journo Yvonne van Dongen. Many would concur.
I daresay, that like much of our Public Service, the Ministry of Health is riddled with transactivists. They would have fought tooth and nail against even a damp squib being produced. With such resistance, it’s a wonder the MoH managed to produce even an uninspiring “clinicians should exercise caution in prescribing”.
Amongst the resisters, both inside and outside the MoH, would have been parents who have allowed their children to go onto puberty blockers. As we know, they are fierce in their resistance to any acknowledgement that what they’ve done to their kids is very likely amongst the worst things they could have.
Lurking around all this is PATHA, the Professional Association of Transgender Health Aotearoa. PATHA has the dubious ‘honour’ of being given the second lowest score for guideline quality out of the 21 reported on in the Cass Review. The president of PATHA is a man (who says he’s a woman) called Jaimie Veale, and who is also a senior lecturer of Psychology at the University of Waikato. Interestingly, the University of Waikato also seems to be where the registered office of PATHA is. See the screenshot below. I don’t know if registering one’s place of work as the address for an outside organisation is a common thing, or not.
It’s hard not to be aware that the collusion between all the proponents of gender ideology is very cosy, indeed. In her article, Yvonne looks at what those who are not amongst the ‘cosy colluders’ are saying about the Ministry of Health’s evidence brief and position statement.

An excellent summary, thanks you.
Most unusual I wonder how his employer feels about this…
