Trans lobby group claims elderly women commonly attack men who say they’re women.
No, this isn't a parody - this is an actual claim that would be laughable if it wasn't being publicly disseminated.
In a staggeringly brazen lie, the partially publicly-funded trans lobby group Gender Minorities Aotearoa (i.e. New Zealand) claim that elderly women commonly use a tactic of attacking men who say they’re women, because their age lets them get away with it. I’m sure elderly women would be stoked to hear they’re considered that dangerous, if it wasn’t so delusional. There’d certainly be no problem with keeping men out of women’s spaces, if it was as easy as elderly women making those men tremble in their high heels at the mere thought of being attacked by them, if they dared venture into our spaces.
In a guide on their website called Anti-transgender Extremism published in May 2024, ostensibly to help transpeople stay safe, they frame elderly women as a potential physical danger -
Active Watchful Waiting gives a robust rebuttal of the guide, and points out there are “no police reports, no convictions, no incident logs, no New Zealand case studies” to back up this obvious lie about elderly women attacking men who say they’re women. What we do have is ample evidence of how transpeople and transactivists are intimidatory and violent towards women who want to gather to speak about their sex-based rights and safeguarding children. We all remember Albert Park in March 2023, and who attacked whom there.
Meanwhile, no trans event in NZ has ever been protested at in anything like the same way which transpeople and transactivists protest gender-critical/sex-realist women’s events, if indeed it’s ever happened at all. Gender-critical/sex-realist women, on the other hand, now need to take extra security measures for their events.
In their rebuttal of the guide, Active Watchful Waiting lists eight ways that Gender Minorities’ frame their gross misrepresentations -
Frame 1: “Gender-critical groups are part of a genocidal extremist movement.”
Frame 2: “Gender-critical women’s groups sit alongside white supremacists and fascists.”
Frame 3: “Sex-based-rights advocacy is a fascist tactic to ‘protect’ women or children.”
Frame 4: “Elderly cisgender women commonly physically attack trans people.”
Frame 5: “Gender-critical events use Neo-Nazi ‘security services’ engaging in sexual violence.”
Frame 6: “Common language used by parents and women (e.g., ‘protecting women’, ‘gender ideology’, ‘think of the children’) is extremist ‘coded language’.”
Frame 7: “Opposing puberty blockers for minors is based on ‘moral panic’ and an attempt to eradicate trans children.”
Frame 8: “Gender-critical research, policy writing, or academic analysis is a form of extremist activity.”
To add insult to the injury, this egregious guide is linked to on the NZ Police webpage Standing Together Against Hate, as a useful link. The amount of hate and lies in Gender Minorities guide surely makes it inappropriate to include there?
I will venture an opinion that Rhona Stace, a policeman who says he’s a woman and who seems to have substantial clout in the NZ police force, has his fingerprints all over this webpage. Stace is considered to have been influential in the lack of police protection at Albert Park, when women were attacked by the transactivist mob there. Whoever is responsible for creating and/or supplying the content for the Standing Together Against Hate webpage, has likely been entrusted with it, with little to no oversight. That trust has been betrayed.
Here is the rebuttal of Gender Minorities’ guide by Active Watchful Waiting. It’s 15 pages, but a clear and succinct easy read - albeit an incredulous one.

The link to Gender Minorities’ guide must be removed from the police website. The guide is not safe for public consumption in any context or on any platform, especially not on the police website, particularly at this time of controversy and upheaval in NZ’s police force -

Special thanks to Kat Karena for her post on X which made us aware of Gender Minorities’ guide.

We should write to the Minister of Police and the Police Commissioner to demand the link to this atrocious document is removed from the Police website and any other government website where it appears.
If it wasn't so serious it would be laughable. I guess a zimmer frame is really useful especially after doing some weights at the gym. now to find a big hulking man in a frock to bash with it.
