One of the best things to come out of cyclone-ravaged Hawkes Bay in the last year is Jane Morgan’s newly released cookbook titled ‘The Dinner Club’, which is being sold as a fundraiser to feed people. It’s selling like hotcakes online, but the only local bookshop which stocked it sent Jane a request to collect the remaining books from them asap, because Jane doesn’t believe men can be women.
Appalling bias towards Jane who is using her initiative to raise money to help people in her area. Unacceptable that the book shop is acting as the thought police.
Isn't it odd that the ONE complaint from Hemi Brown, who has now deleted their social media profile. Along with several other profiles they were running. I wonder what Woke Wardini feel about that. They took the word of an Internet troll
Thank you for this piece! I notice wardini books still stocks Harry Potter ( one has to make money selectively I guess) and also Shaneel Lal whose Herald column encouraged bullying and harassment against women.
This is scary. The cult's tactics seem to be turning more towards smearing any woman who dares to do anything that proves she is a good and substantial person all the while believing that men can't be women. Unfortunately, thanks to our shitty media and MPs, most people here as elsewhere remain largely ignorant of how corrupt and sexist the ostensibly 'woke' are. Even so, for a book shop owner to reject an author and her book designed to help and literally feed others on the basis of a single complaint, and to accept the bullshit smears made against her without question, is unforgivable. They are in the wrong business if you ask me. Thanks for your excellent account of this travesty, Katrina. It's good to have you on the right side of herstory in Aotearoa.

Great summary thanks KB. It astonishes me that business folk would take that clearly trolling message seriously...if that's their level then they deserve whatever comes their way. (the irony of selling books to line the pockets of authors seems to escape them too).
