Kia ora, I'm 38. I'm sooo upset by gender ideology too and the erosion of male and female in the process. Trying to shelter my children from this at present and it's becoming increasingly difficult. I have to scan all movies, TV shows, kids clubs etc... to ensure that they don't include radical gender beliefs. I talk to my daughter about how much I love being a woman trying to instill a positive view of womanhood for her so the gender cult don't get to her in the coming years. It's truly terrifying as a mum to see the effect this is having on young people and their families. I worked in youth health in my 20's and was appalled at the ideologies that guided youth health practices. I saw 'conservative' families having their values and beliefs trampled over in favor of a liberal view of sex and gender. Thank you Katrina for standing up! Wahine toa! This ideology is eroding humanity- women bear children and the 8 billion humans walking the earth all came through women - that's a fact and NOT a feeling.
Not everyone is in a position to be open and public about their opposition to gender ideology, but ‘soft subversion’ can be effective in its’ own way, too. Every movement requires multiple approaches to take it forward, because we live in a multi-faceted society.
Yeah thats true. I'm surprised how many people think it's nuts.. cause there's a societal gag on saying anything it feels like I'm in isolation but once I start speaking out to others I find most think it's dangerous and nuts
I'm 62 and I also thought we'd resolved the fight for women's rights. When we get them back, and we will, we have to be sure to teach the girls coming up to never take them for granted.
Goes back much further Goethe was quoting Ovid, who around 2000 years ago wrote " Principiis obsta; sero medicina paratur Cum mala per longas convaluere moras." (Resist beginnings; the remedy comes too late when the disease has gained strength by long delays.)
Thanks Katrina, enjoyed this. I attended a performance of Into The Woods yesterday and I couldn't help but reflect from time to time during it about the life lessons & adult common sense that the show champions...I wouldn't have reflected if I was watching it 5 yrs ago even, I would've taken it for granted.
You good Mum worked hard so you all 'went to good schools' caught my eye. In this country that can be code for private school...??
SUFW raised my consciousness, that & giving twitter a go. Retired, I'm free to be unpopular or bolshy, or both. I keep my nose clean as it were but I have to say my peer group who still use FB as their sole socmed have little idea about the nonsense that goes on. Perhaps they don't need BP meds like I now do!
In this instance, the "good schools" were private Catholic schools, so not as expensive as the non-Catholic ones, but she still had to work hard to afford the school fees for six kids. Just as a fyi, I don't have any religious leanings now.
I'm not quite retired yet, but my circumstances allow me to be bolshy and unpopular, too - it's bloody great! It's a funny ol' thing, but I started liking myself more after menopause, probably in direct correlation to others liking me less - lol!
Still a coveted choice for many, those integrated schools. Am always interested in the school choice thing as I trained to teach secondary but in the 80s it was feast or famine for grads & I struck famine. Wasn't bothered. I'd be pretty ropable at the intrusion into education of these issues today.
76, I can simply not even begin to comprehend what is going on. It’s horrifying.

Yes, that has been a harsh lesson for us, which we need to instill into girls.
Your second lesson "pay attention to the trivial" reminds me of the German saying "Beware the beginnings".
Let's hope we don't learn your lessons as hard as the Germans learned theirs.

Thank you. It’s interesting to know that this is actually a recognised cautionary warning.
It's also depressing that humans never learn!
Great saying!

More power to you lady.

Travesty is right! 😢
