I am always cautious around public toilets. I was exposed to at a young age and was petrified of seeing a man stand in front of me with his hands in his pants and the rest well you can imagine ! I was transfixed, couldn’t move my legs to run, couldn’t scream all I remember from that day is being scared and knowing what he was doing was very wrong. I remember the long walk home, the first look I gave my mother and she knew straight away that something had happened to me. I remember feeling ashamed, I remember feeling dirty, I remember what he looked like, I remember my mum calling the police, I remember the police interviewing me.

I remember that day for the rest of my life and it happened in a public toilet.

I remember that I knew he should not have been in the girls toilets.

What I know now is we must protect our spaces for the obvious reasons.

I don’t think I need to explain my position any more, and I sure as hell will not back down to men in our spaces !!!

One man's wank is a girl's ordeal for life. Whilst this hideous event should never have happened to you, at least you, your mother, and the police knew it was wrong back then. Now, who knows what attitude anyone would take, especially if the perv said he was a woman, or 'transitioning'. Even though the system of single-sex spaces isn't perfect, as your story shows us, it's still the best we have, and it makes me furious that the TQ+ and their useful idiots are even trying to wrest that away from us.

That’s the thing Katrina what if this happens again to a girl. How will the police respond now ? The man can just easily say he’s a woman and the girl was making it up!

How does this all work now, I wonder if there are cases out there where this has happened ?

Expand full comment

I'm sure it has, although the stories are not being recorded at this stage, because no thought has been given by any authority that it would be necessary. The brainlessness is beyond belief.

'All Men Are Men.' Rex Landy.

It's not a personality competition - if you have a Y you're a guy. Cope and seethe.

You're too kind when you blank the tranny's names out mate. It's a matter of public record if they've said that shit on Twatter. Out them! LoL

I hear what you say. Mostly, I blank out names if I have something unflattering to say about them, simply for strategic reasons. I have no will to be kind to them, and enjoy the 'reaming' you dish out to them :-)

Having the TQ+ and transactivists pushing their agenda in our society is one thing, but when their cause has been taken up by supposed reputable professional and government agencies, such as Health NZ and the Justice department (among many more) then the situation is truly scary! How the hell did we ever arrive at the position where I can now go down to the local courthouse, sign a declaration that I'm now a woman, and get my sex legally changed on my birth certificate!? What ignorant lunatics ever allowed that to happen? It really beggars belief!

It shows how easy it is to contrive a twisted narrative that useful fools will believe, eh?

Expand full comment

Indeed it does, Katrina. And it just makes it even more difficult when arguing the case with a trans sympathiser because they now have the backing of top medical staff and government legislature! Biological reality is simply discarded!

Expand full comment

It also shows the depths of misogyny in all societies as the fundamental political and cultural uncaring what women need, think and feel up against what men want, think and feel was the petri dish in which sympathy for trans and the instant societal hatred of the women who challenged this sympathy took hold.

Labour with their trans cronies a principal one being truly creepy ( grew his boobs 90s)I mean one Lex Matheson (adviser to Education ministry ( they confirmed to me in writing) and MSD ( an advisor on experiences of elderly lesbians!!!) formerly AUT. Evil. Father of a girl who was my older daughter's classmate. I have first hand details of his perfidy.

Whoever were the members of the Cabinet Office Honours Unit in 2016 saw fit to give this person a New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2016 Royal Honours handout! He claims to have been beaten up by a police officer for being a "transexual".

""I was attacked by this cop. He hit me, I hit the ground. He grabbed my hair, smashing my face into the concrete."

Funny how the only information that surfaces on a search about this supposed incident is the self-reported statement above (from a NZ Herald article). There is no sign of that incident in any official records anywhere.

Thank you Katrina for your many posts. I find your articles are always clear, articulate, on topic, forthright without misemotion and always educational. I am planning to be back in NZ in early Nov and look forward to helping in any way I can to get the trifecta of Self ID laws, non conversion therapy law and hate speech laws modified and/or prevented to eliminate this ongoing invasion by men of women's spaces, events, facilities and opportunities. And also interested to assist in any way I can to prevent the pedo-toxic mutilation and neutering of children and juveniles in the vain hope that by removing perfectly good body parts and going on puberty blockers and a lifetime of drugs and hormones (and even a lifetime of such routines as frequent dilations after vaginoplasty), they can become a member of the opposite sex! Look forward to any suggestions as to best actions to be taken to help restore women's and children's safety and opportunities. After all, as I believe you said elsewhere:- “Whatever issues men who say they're women have, they're problems to be solved away from women's spaces and not intrude on the rights we fought hard for. Their problems must be solved in a different way, and finding that solution is not a burden that women should be expected to bear.” Cheers

Thanks, Martin :-) Where will you be living when you come back to NZ?

I'll be based on a farm near Taupo. But I do occasional trips to Hamilton, Auckland, Tauranga, Napier, Wellington and sometimes South Island. Be interested to meet up if that's possible.

Let’s rewrite it with the facts:

Men are just trying to pee in bathrooms. I’m in and out of the bathroom so fast, I don’t look at anyone and that’s it. It’s only women who are concerned with what men do in bathrooms. Creepy.

I wish this one regrettable incident had not affected you so deeply. I believe that you should have been offered help to shake it off. Why allow one weirdo's misbehavior to darken the rest of your life? I'm glad he didn't get his hands on you.

Right now in NYS there's an "Equality Amendment" on the ballot which I at first mistook for "Equal Rights Amendment"—which was already passed long ago—to enshrine trans issues that are already in effect, so it would be harder to reverse them. I wonder how many people have been taken in as I was by the similarity of names?

No woman 'shakes off' the effect either psychologucal or emotionsl of being sexually assaulted (and it is an assaukt whether physical contact is made or not) it penetrates consciousness. 1 in 3 of us had this by age 16 stats in NZ goong back over 50 years. Police do not usually react appropriately. One can do hours of invasive interviews only to have no prosecution happen 'he says sge says) in NZ 2% is the figure for su cessful prosecutions. We go on. We survive. We persist. We do not...recover.( I worked for decades in support of women and girls some being rape and incest and sodomy survivors, some strangled, suffocsted, bones broken...still no successful process...in ourcourt system and in both mental health and education).I have also written submissions...some in collaboration with lawyers and law lecturers. On a practice level they should use the urinals in the men's loo. It's the right hight and made to accommodate the needs of men with manly bits. Do they stand up in the ladies as the bowel is a long way down especially after a few drinks when their mum in not all it should be. Yuk think if the mess on the seats

I was many years at AU and those are the library university toilets that that entitled prick is taking his eff U to women selfies in. If he was with Shaneel Lal at Albert Park egging on the woman-haters it is a serious worry for the integrity of AU and its Criminology school. What a bloody mess they have made. And absolutely spot on that our instincts about men's potential danger are on constant alert for very good reason, though mine didn't kick in early enough and at 8 I got sucked into a very creepy encounter with a paedophile lying under his car, pretending to be fixing it, and needing help scratching his 'leg'. I obliged till I eventually clicked this wasn't right. He apparently was active all over the neighbourhood and was eventually caught. I don't think my father ever forgave me for that lapse of judgement. Yeah, we're not the creepy ones. But damn if society is not determined to deny the reality of creepy men. Great sub, KB.

MEN have a male bathroom to use… predators get off on the fear they cause…

We have tampons in the men’s room at work. It bugs me every single time I see the container. Someone with a vagina shouldn’t be in this space where I expect a bit of privacy. No, I don’t find women physically threatening. Still, I have my own right to dignity and privacy. That should be reason enough to make this space male only. And by male only, I mean people born with a penis and with the body type that produces sperm. That should be obvious. But evidently we’re part of a uniquely stupid generation that needs it spelled out these days.

Expand full comment

I agree that the need for some privacy for men is not always accompanied by the need for safety as well, but there’s no reason why men shouldn’t have some single-sex spaces for dignity. Toilets used to be a little bit like a sanctuary once, strange as that might sound. Now the woke have turned them into a playground for those with identity issues. I hope you and the other guys at your work rebel against the tampons in your toilets one day :-) Funny how women never got free tampons until men could get periods 🙄
