I'm in Scotland. I refuse to call a predatory autogynophile a woman. I do hope everyone will write too me in jail. I also hope I go to the prison that holds the 6 foot 4 fella who thinks it's funny to threaten the other women and guards.
Germany is a country I'm fairly familiar with. There is a whole gaggle of factors that tangle into this. They have this extreme self-awareness of authoritarianism that often makes them overcompensate by being overindulgently liberal. They also have a certain pride in the "queer" culture, particularly in places like Berlin.
One of the worst things about continental Europe is they have far weaker free speech laws than the English tradition and there are criminal libel rules in many countries - you can even go to jail for it rather than just costing you money like here.
It was a great event, and thanks go to Speak Up for Women for doing a great job of organising the event and the fantastic line up of speakers. It's worth looking out for the replay to hear them. Well done women!
Germany is a bit of a paradox about this issue. The first what would now be called 'gender clinic' was founded in early 1919 and opened as the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft (the Institute for Sexual Research) on July 6. By 1930 it would perform the first modern gender-affirmation surgeries in the world, which were of course, removing the testicles of men with AGP (although of course, not called this at the time). The origins of this can be found in homophobia, which was illegal; men were considered to be "degenerates" for their same sex attraction.
Fast forward to now and all those morons who shout "Nazis!" at us biology believer types clearly have never cracked open a history book because as this article outlines, the Nazis had no time for homosexuals or "deviants" of any stripes at all. https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/defending-the-indefensible-or-its But they did really like all those flags and slogans! So, it's not us who are acting like Nazis, it's the trans borgs with their unending pride parades, banner waving and slogans.
There is so much wrong with this new law, that I am sure the books about it are already being written. You know those Lonely Planet travel guidebooks where you can find out where it is safe (or not) for solo women travelers? They need to add Germany to their "don't go there" list.
Good job, Katrina. Glad you joined us, and thanks for keeping record. The wild, fertilizer/urine-stinking wind notwithstanding 🙄 it was, as you say, good to catch up with our online Terf community in the feisty flesh and to do a bit more Terfing together. The women who 'participate in their own oppression' are endlessly frustrating, to be sure, and those two spouting 'trans rights are human rights' were classic, but all otherwise went well and hopefully it kicked off the global protest against this misogynist farce that is sex self-ID and associated shite.
Sex self-ID is such a killer of women’s and girls’ rights that we can’t afford to do what the lawmakers want, which is just eventually succumb to it. It’s what they expect will happen, as has usually been part of for the course with unpopular legislation. Good to have met you and your husband in the flesh, too :-)

I will be needing long time pen pals if so.
Great work Katrina and all the other warriors. 💪🏻

It was organised by the Women's Rights Party. The others tagged along. Well done Jill and WRP! #Fixeditforyou
Fraid you've got that wrong Rex. The Wellington event was organised by SUFW. But great to see both groups out in force and enjoying the event. #fixed
LoL have it your way.
Hijacked, you mean.
