What sort of "science" does the Chief Science Advisor go in for if she is tweeting her ignorance out to the world on X? Here in only 30 minutes is a more than adequate explanation of why (and how) mammalian sex is binary: https://www.realityslaststand.com/p/the-sex-binary-what-it-is-and-why?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=email-half-post&r=1kuagj

And as to the gender woo crap that the Marsden Fund supports, well words fail me actually. There are many areas of research that would benefit the 51% of the population who are women (even the ones that pretend they are something else), but no, they fund the tiny minority of those who have untreated mental health challenges in a way that doesn't even help them to overcome their delusional thinking.

Faith based beliefs have no place that justifies them obtaining funding by false pretences. https://lucyleader.substack.com/p/alternative-facts-cannot-create-an

Staggering that one of those gender-woo 'research' grants was close to a million dollars!

She wouldn't last long in Antarctica with that nonsense I figure.

Maybe get a GoFundMe going for her ticket...

Another highly paid craven "science" advisor willing to sell out actual science for the approval of the church of gender. Let's hope she is not reappointed and NZ gets a Chief Science Advisor with integrity and some commitment to science. Thank you for your persistence Katrina!

I've just heard that she won't be reapplying for the role, so have amended my blog. Unfortunately, though, it's likely she'll still stay in the science field.

Great and dogged work, Katrina. I wouldn’t want to be your opponent!

Abolish the role, we don't need it. The guy previous (Peter Gluckman) was just as bad, maybe not on gender but he's not uninvolved with gender either. And the methamphetamine house cleaning scam happened on his watch (even if he belatedly and weakly critiqued it after resigning).

It sounds like no Chief Science Officer is going to offer any science that the Prime Minister doesn't like. Their job would be on the line. What a travesty.

Don't think I'll quickly forget the Listener 7 & the brief email exchange I had with Wiles over it, that led me to conclude she was convinced of her moral mission & rightness & totally unconcerned that others found fault. I concluded other things too that I won't mention here. Some say the tide is turning on all the nonsense but I'm unconvinced yet.

I have finally concluded that Wiles and her ilk are completely unreachable. They are fully encased the steel trap idealogues create for themselves.

Re the CCC & the facilities...you can't tell me Mauger isn't going along to get along...might try my counsellor Moore.

He is very, but not yet tested him on woke stuff. Good opportunity.

At some stage, I'll be sending the Councillors my open letter for them to look at before the Draft Equity and Inclusion Policy goes before the Council for review. It might be an opportunity then to 'piggy-back' on it?

Wiles is terrible.

I showed her a graph from The Lancet that I annotated for her, that quite clearly showed the first lockdown could not have been responsible for the fall in cases. They had already peaked when we went into lockdown and there is a two week lag before lockdowns take effect, according to the "lockdown theory" which you can put in the same bucket of crap as "critical theory" or "transgender theory".

But it's their theory and it's not even internally consistent.

So I pointed that out on Twitter, I wasn't mean or anything, and she just blocked me. So much for the critique and debate of science.

She is the most mediocre of mediocrities. And very much an "ally".

Great work Katrina.

It's amazing how people like wiles and Gerrard claim to love science.....yet a central fundament of science is critique and debate.

Yet they don't like criticism and they refuse to engage in debate.

It's as if they believe science is remembering a lot of facts and measuring things and that what ever conclusions drawn from that are perfectly formed and correct the moment they speak them.

Science is in a very bad way. The institutions are completely corrupted by politics and much of the work coming from scientists is, frankly, a complete load of arse.

One only needs to look at the complete debacle around covid, the ridiculous modelling, the ineffective lockdowns, the pointless medical looking masks and the dodgy vaccines all supported through and through by clowns like those two.

Looks like 38 emails is the Gerrard blocking threshold aye?

They are both gender-woo numpties, irrespective of what qualifications they may hold. I have since heard that Juliet Gerrard is stepping down at the end of her term in June this year, so hopefully her replacement will know that sex is binary!

Or they find someone who thinks sex is tertiary.

People dont seem fed up enough with the crazy yet, why the hell else would anyone think putting shaneel lals drivel in the national newspaper is a good idea?

The guy is famous for legislating against a problem that largely didn't exist in the first place, calling himself an expert and quoting pseudoscience babble that can be debunked in about three seconds.

And that gets you a herald column nowadays!
