No, New Zealand’s Ministry of Transport has not really urged its staff to go vegan. Thought I’d better get that out of the way first, before any serious combustions occurred.

It's basically part of the SDG (Sustainable development goals) of the corporate world. And as somebody said elsewhere it's far easier to put up a rainbow flag at your head office or in your Department Store than it is to stop using that coal or oil to light your buildings.

Bad enough for the Ministry of Transport, but even worse in my opinion, is the NZ Midwifery Council that has produced a Midwifery Scope of Practice document that does not contain two words that most of us would consider central to midwifery practice: "women" and "mothers". Reading this made me wonder what it is that midwives actually do. It's certainly not clear from this what midwifery practice is.

What was in the Midwifery Scope of Practice - or rather, what wasn't in it - was appalling. I put in a submission to them about that, too. Like all organisations everywhere that get a whiff of government money, though, they determinedly ignored what most people didn't want.
Appalling persecution of an individual, by both Inside OUT and the MOT, challenging their democratic right to express an opinion and ask valid questions. NZ is going down a very dark rabbit hole over gender ideology. The word 'inclusive' means exactly the opposite when it comes to women's sex based rights and the erasure of language that defines women as adult human females in their own right let alone as pregnant women and mothers.
nz is shot. all govt department's, education, social welfare, justice, health... media, private corporations. everything is taken over and people are (rightly) scared to express an opinion about almost anything except sport and weather.
