I had a really good straight-talking chat with Sall Grover yesterday. Sall is an Australian woman who has been taken to court for discrimination by a man who says he’s a woman, and who now goes by the name of Roxy Tickle, for removing him from her women-only app called Giggle. The court case has been called Tickle v Giggle. Despite the somewhat comical name, it’s pretty much the most important case for women’s rights we’ve had in this part of the world for many, many years, including New Zealand. The judgement on the court case is still pending.
Here, Sall and I talk about that court case; her time in Hollywood as a screen writer, which was rife with all the things which the #MeToo movement said it was rife with; and some ‘gloves off’ talking about the nonsensical concept of ‘trans’. It’s interesting how the discourse has changed over time when we discuss men who say they’re women, and their demands to be recognised as actual women. Women started off this journey of pushing back when we saw our rights being dismantled by being polite, because that’s just what you did in a civilised society. Now, we’ve ditched the politeness for unvarnished truth, as there’s nothing civilised about the control of women’s and girls’ spaces being put into the hands of any man who wants it.
Great chat with Sall Grover. She's coming to NZ! We talk about that and other stuff.
Just so you know I know - yes, my lighting was poor, and my sound may make me a bit ‘shouty’ compared to Sall. I have taken notes to do better next time :-) Hope you enjoy, anyway.
Details for Sall’s upcoming visit to NZ are here.
Sall has worded things so well, it's been a mega help to those using logic against the nut-brigade. May all her giggles fight off tickles.
Sall is a heroine in this fight. She has to win this fight. Watching from the UK. Keep fighting all you Terfs.💜🤍💚
